Interior Remodeling in Portland, OR
Interior Trim & Molding. Drywall Repair & Installation. Interior Painting. Kitchen Renovation. Bathroom Renovation. The Same Owner-Operated Crew — Inside Your Home.
VResh Construction brings the same standards, owner accountability, and in-house crew to interior remodeling as we do to exterior work. When you hire us for interior trim, drywall repair, kitchen renovation, or bathroom renovation, you are getting the same team that handles your siding, windows, and roofing — not a different interior subcontractor hired at arm's length.
This consistency matters for quality and for accountability. When we replace windows and then finish the interior trim around those same windows, the scope is managed by one team, under one written contract, with direct accountability from Vlad on both sides of the wall. The interior and exterior work are documented together, warranted together, and completed by people who understand both.

Interior Services We Provide
Interior Trim & Molding
Crown molding, door and window casings, baseboards, wainscoting, built-ins, and custom millwork. Portland Craftsman homes have distinctive interior trim details that require care and skill to replicate or restore.
We install all interior trim types — coped joints as standard, not butt-jointed. Properly coped interior corners are one of the most visible quality indicators in finished trim work.
Common project: Installing new casing and apron around windows that VResh just replaced, so the entire scope — window replacement and interior trim — is managed by one team.
Drywall Repair & Installation
Drywall repair following window or door replacement, water damage, or structural work. New drywall in renovated spaces. Textured drywall matching — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, and smooth. Patch repairs for holes, cracks, and settling damage.
We finish with a smooth, paintable surface that does not show the patch under paint. Texture matching is a skill that separates a quality drywall repair from a visible patch.
Interior Painting
Interior painting on walls, ceilings, trim, and doors. Proper preparation is the foundation of a lasting paint job — we do not paint over unrepaired surfaces or skip the prime coat.
Low-VOC products, color matching, finish selection guidance, and complete prep including, caulking and surface repair.
Kitchen Renovation
Kitchen renovation from cabinet replacements and countertop upgrades to complete kitchen reconfiguration. We manage renovation from demolition through finish work — framing, drywall, tile, trim, and paint.
Owner-supervised throughout. Written scope before work starts.

Bathroom Renovation
Full bathroom renovation including tile work, vanity installation, shower and tub surrounds, and finish work. Proper waterproofing at all wet areas is non-negotiable — the same moisture management discipline we apply to exterior work applies here.
We use a continuous waterproof membrane from the drain up the walls — not just backer board and tile.
Interior Door Replacement
Interior door replacement — prehung or slab doors in existing frames. Includes proper shimming, hardware installation, and casing. Common project after exterior door or window replacements that change the interior opening dimensions.
Why Use the Same Contractor for Interior and Exterior Work
Many Portland homeowners hire an exterior contractor, wait for that project to finish, and then hire a separate interior contractor for the follow-on work. This creates coordination problems: the interior contractor may not understand what was just done on the exterior, may not know where new flashing or WRB was installed, and has no accountability for the interaction between the two scopes.
When VResh completes a window replacement and then performs the interior trim and drywall work around those windows, we know exactly what is behind the wall because we installed it. We know where the new head flashing runs, where the foam sealant was applied, and what the framing looks like. The interior work integrates with the exterior work seamlessly — because it is all one project, managed by one owner-operator, with direct accountability throughout.
One Contractor Advantages
One warranty that covers the full scope — no ambiguity about who is responsible when something goes wrong at an interior-exterior interface.
No coordination gaps between trades. The same team that installed the windows handles the interior trim around them. They know the rough opening dimensions, the reveal, and the window unit exactly.
Consolidated scheduling — instead of coordinating four separate contractors, you coordinate one. One point of contact, one schedule, one project.
Better moisture management decisions — the person installing interior finishes knows exactly what was done on the exterior wall system. Decisions about vapor barriers, insulation, and drywall placement are made with full knowledge of the exterior construction.
Most Portland homeowners hire separate contractors for exterior and interior work — a siding company for the siding, a painter for the painting, a kitchen contractor for the kitchen. Each handoff is an opportunity for a coordination gap: the interior contractor who did not see the exterior work and does not know where the new WRB is, the painter who is told to paint before the trim carpenter is done, the drywall company that does not know the window rough openings were just modified.

Lead Paint on Interior Surfaces — Portland Homes
Pre-1978 Portland homes often have lead paint on interior surfaces — trim, doors, windows, and walls — as well as on exterior surfaces. The same EPA RRP governs interior trim and window work that disturbs lead paint rules as exterior work. Most interior remodeling contractors in Portland are not EPA Lead-Safe Certified. VResh Construction is certified and follows all required protocols on pre-1978 interior work.
What Interior RRP Compliance Requires
Testing of all surfaces to be disturbed before work begins.
Containment of the work area — plastic sheeting on floors and furniture, sealed doorways to adjacent areas.
HEPA-vacuum cleanup of all dust during and after work.
Post-work cleaning verification before containment is removed.
Written documentation provided to the homeowner.
